Yes, you should celebrate Valentine’s Day!

I feel that valentine’s Day gets a bad wrap; it often gets referred to as the Hallmark holiday. Spoiler alert every holiday is commercialized; why else would you buy ridiculous sparkly gold glasses at new years, so that excuse doesn’t fly. But maybe we are just looking at it wrong? And who cares if it is a made-up holiday anyway?

The emphasis is often on gifts, and somewhere down the line, we have got wrapped up in some sexist BS that all we want is expensive presents. Don’t get me wrong, gifts are great, but they don’t have to be costly or even needed. We want what all humans are craving connection, which is more important than ever. We have had so many of our “traditions” interrupted in the last few years. Let love be the one we get back ❤️

Valentine’s Day is traditionally associated with romantic love, but it is slowly becoming more inclusive with people celebrating friendship, self-love, and the bonds they share with their pets.

Think because your single, you can’t celebrate? Honey is 2022, and you don’t need someone to tell you; you are special because you already know it😉. Take the Day to reconnect with yourself. We often get wrapped up in the day-to-day and forget we need a little self-love.

Now I know we shouldn’t need a day to the calendar to show our partners/selves love, but sometimes we need a reminder. Like a quick kick in the ass to say, “Hey, you are freaking awesome & I love you!”. Think of it as a post-it note for love, and who doesn’t want to feel loved?

Quit being too cool for this made-up holiday and get out there and spread a little love and maybe buy some cinnamon hearts because who doesn’t love cinnamon hearts!?!❤️

Happy love day, lovelies xo
